The Superpower Union Webcomic

This week on The Bookshelf, I’m going to blog about Image’s The Intrepids #1 (Formerly called Rat Bastards).

The story follows a group of orphans that have been taken in my brilliant scientist, who has given his wards a series of implants, giving them super powers.  He’s training his team to help bring down his former colleague who is using the same implants for more sinister means.

Usually, I’d have just passed over this book, but it was being pushed by the guys at the local comic shop because there is a local connection; the writer Kurtis J Wiebe is from right here in Saskatoon! I thought I’d offer some support for a local writer and maybe drum up some business for him lol!

Its a good read, plus a giant cyborg bear just reeks of awesome!
