This week on The Bookshelf, I picked up the first volume of Sweet Tooth.  I had never read this before, but have heard good things about it.

For those of you that haven’t heard of this book, I’ll summarize.  An affliction has ravaged the world, and as a result children are being born as strange animal/human hybrids.  In this post-apocalyptic world, these children are hunted and sold, presumably for experimentation.  Gus is one of these children.  After the death of his father, Gus leaves their woodland hide-away and ventures into the world where he meets Jeppard, who promises to take him to the fabled sanctuary called ‘The Perserve’.

This was an good read, and definitely got me hooked.  I’ve always been a fan of post-apocalyptic worlds, and I want to see just what will happen to the doe-eyed Gus.  Volume 2 is already out and I’ll be picking it up next chance I get.
